Francesca Vega is the Vice Chancellor of Community & Government Relations at the UCSF, where she facilitates the university’s interactions with local, state and federal governments, as well as its relationship with the business community, neighboring communities and various other stakeholder entities. She believes education and access to higher education are a means of empowering historically impoverished communities, particularly through strengthening the educational pipeline through access to affordable educational opportunities. She serves on the Board of Directors for the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, the Chicano Latino Youth Leadership Project, and as Co-Chair of the UCSF Anchor Institution Steering Committee.
