Mariam Carson, MS

Project Policy Analyst 2

Mariam graduated from UCSF in July 2021 with an MS in Global Health. She also has a BS in Bioengineering and a minor in Spanish from UCLA. She aspires to combine her experiences in research and community engagement to improve health and eliminate healthcare disparities in marginalized populations. Mariam is involved with the LCOE workforce group, where she conducts policy-oriented research with the mission to increase Latinx representation in the healthcare workforce. She also contributes to COVID-19 research projects under the guidance of the LCOE Director, Dr. Alicia Fernandez. In addition to the LCOE, Mariam is involved with the Department of Family and Community Medicine, where she helps develop partnerships between UCSF and community-based organizations through the Clinical and Translational Science Community Engagement Program. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, hiking, practicing Muay Thai, and volunteering in San Francisco’s COVID-19 response efforts as an EMT.
