Brianna
Policy Analyst
Latinx Center of Excellence

Brianna is a Policy Analyst for the LCOE, where she supports the implementation of new pipeline programs within the Rooted in Health Equity (RHE) pathway. She is currently working on Gators Reclaiming Our Healthcare Workforce (GROW), a year-long pre-health initiative designed to support underrepresented rising sophomores and juniors at San Francisco State University (SFSU) who are interested in pursuing careers in healthcare.

Brianna holds a master’s degree in Ethnic Studies from SFSU, where she also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Race and Resistance Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. Born and raised in San Francisco, her family has lived in the area for over 50 years. As an experienced community organizer, Brianna has witnessed health inequities firsthand while navigating the healthcare system on behalf of her community. For her master’s thesis, she explored the intersection of community organizing, ethnic studies, and public health, using tobacco regulation in San Francisco as a case study to examine racial capitalism and public health interventions. She is passionate about bridging ethnic studies and public health while empowering other first-generation students like herself to find their voices.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, traveling, attending concerts, and exploring new places around the city.
