Odalis Camacho-Vargas

LCOE HCC Summer Intern
What I do:
Odalis Camacho-Vargas is a first generation college graduate from UCLA where she earned her bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Global Health. As the daughter of Mexican immigrant parents, she was raised in Kerman, CA with a farmworking background that first drew her interest to health due to the disparities faced by her agricultural community. She currently works in education, is finishing up the UCSF Fresno Pre-Medical Surgical Internship, and enjoys volunteering at community events, such as health fairs. She is passionate about community, education, and mentorship and hopes to use an intersection of all three in addressing health disparities throughout her journey and career. She aspires to become a great physician and resource for medically underserved communities and reduce barriers that prevent community members from accessing high quality care.
