Elena Fuentes-Afflick, MD, MPH, is a Professor, Chief of Pediatrics at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, and Vice Dean for Academic Affairs in the School of Medicine at UCSF. She obtained her undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Michigan and an MPH in Epidemiology at UC Berkeley. Her scholarly work has focused on Latino health, acculturation, immigrant health, health disparities, faculty misconduct, and faculty development.
J. Renee Navarro, PharmD, MD is the Vice Chancellor of Diversity and Outreach and Chief Diversity and Outreach Officer for UCSF. Dr. Navarro drives diversity initiatives and best practices, and leads the strategy for diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism efforts at UCSF. As a faculty leader, she has held several clinical leadership positions at SFGH, including Acting Chief of Anesthesia, Chair of the Risk Management Committee, Medical Director of Perioperative Services, and Chief of the Medical Staff.

Beth Harleman, MD is Professor of Medicine and Vice Chief of Medicine at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. A clinician-educator, Beth has extensive experience developing and delivering curricula to a wide range of learners. Her focus in medical education is on the development of the physician identity, particularly at transition points in training. She is a co-lead for the FUEGO faculty program.

Claire D. Brindis, Dr. PH, Distinguished Professor and Co-Director of the Adolescent and Young Adult Health Center. As a Latina researcher, she has led evaluations in diverse healthcare and public health content areas, including maternal, child, and adolescent health. She strives to incorporate the lens of lived experience among racially and ethnically diverse populations, particularly among Latinx populations. She is also committed to the translation of research for stakeholders—from community members to policy makers.
Arianne Teherani, PhD is Evaluation Lead of the LCOE Evaluation Core. She is Professor of Medicine and Education Scientist in the Center for Faculty Educators. She is Director for Program Evaluation and Education Continuous Quality Improvement for the School of Medicine and is Founding Co-Director of the Center for Climate, Health, and Equity. She is a leading international researcher in the areas of educational equity and justice, professionalism, and education for climate change, justice, and health. Dr. Teherani leads the Equity and Justice in Education works in progress series.

Manuel Tapia, MD, MPH is an Assistant Clinical Professor in Family & Community Medicine at UCSF School of Medicine. His area of expertise is in Community Engagement and in the Development, Sustainability, and Evaluation of Pipeline, Outreach and Pathway programs for underrepresented groups in medicine. Dr. Tapia is a member of the LCOE Administrative Core Faculty and he serves as the Medical Director/Faculty Advisor for the student-run Clínica Martín-Baró.
Robert Rodriguez, MD is a Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. Dr. Rodriguez is a member of the LCOE Administrative Core Faculty.

Meshell Johnson, MD is a Professor of Medicine in the UCSF School of Medicine. She is a member of the LCOE Administrative Core Faculty, a mentor with the resident mentoring program, SALUD, and a co-lead with the faculty program, FUEGO.
Michelle Guy, MD is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine. She is Director of Diversity of Graduate Medical Education and a Dean's Diversity Leader. Dr. Katherine Flores is a former farmworker and an alum of Stanford University and UC Davis School of Medicine. She is an Associate Clinical Professor with the UCSF School of Medicine and Director of the UCSF Fresno Latino Center for Medical Education and Research. For over 30 years, she has been passionate in developing and advocating for pipeline programs that recruit and retain underserved and underrepresented youth into health careers.
