Lupita Ambriz

Program Analyst

Lupita Ambriz graduated with a Master of Public Health from UC Berkeley, where her focus was Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health. She earned her BS in Nutrition Science from UC Davis, and she has combined her education background to expand her research interests. She previously worked with the UCSF’s CA Preterm Birth Initiative (PTBi) to assist with a landscape analysis to identify the barriers affecting human milk feeding practices in SF County. While at PTBi, she conducted many stakeholder interviews to help guide and establish a lactation feeding coalition in SF. For her master’s capstone project, she explored the association between Mexican cultural values and depression and anxiety symptoms among adolescents in rural California. Some of Lupita’s aspirations are to promote diversity in higher education, have mental health services be readily available for under-resourced communities, and address health disparities by uplifting lived experiences and focusing on community-centered partnerships. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, trying out new restaurants with friends, and traveling.
