Our LCOE team would like to congratulate our LCOE Director of Workforce Initiatives, Dr. Manuel Tapia, for being awarded in the 40 UNDER 40 Leaders in Minority Health Awards by the National Minority Quality Forum!
"The National Minority Quality Forum is proud to announce the selection of the 2023 40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health. After receiving hundreds of applications from healthcare professionals across the country, these 40 represent the next generation of thought leaders in reducing health disparities.
Manuel Tapia, MD, MPH is an Associate Clinical Professor in Family & Community Medicine (FCM) at UCSF School of Medicine. He was born and raised in San Jose, CA, and is the first in his family to attend college. His area of expertise is in Community Engagement and the Development, Sustainability, and Evaluation of Pipeline, Outreach, and Pathway programs for underrepresented medical groups. He is extraordinarily passionate about partnering with the community to create and enhance opportunities for “home-grown” leaders to succeed in health careers.
Dr. Tapia carries many roles dedicated to opening doors for diverse learners in medical education but his most cherished role is spending quality time with his wife Dr. Gisela Villagomez and his two young daughters Luna and Rubí."
