The FACES for the Future program, founded in Oakland, California in 2000, was created to address two key issues: limited opportunities for youth seeking education and career training, and the lack of diversity in healthcare, which contributes to health disparities. By partnering with schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations, FACES offers comprehensive support to youth, aiming to cultivate a diverse, skilled, and culturally competent healthcare workforce. Due to its success, the program has expanded across California and nationwide as a recognized best-practice model.
