Manuel Tapia, MD is an Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine at UCSF, Vice Chair for Diversity for the Department of Family and Community Medicine, and Director of Workforce Initiatives at the LCOE. His academic interests include primary care in under-resourced settings as well as health professions pathway initiatives, medical education and UIM mentorship. In his new role with the LCOE Dr. Tapia will lead research issues affecting the diversity of medical education, guide pathway programs focused on community college and undergraduate pre-medical students who have been historically underrepresented, and represent the LCOE at local, state, and national conferences related to workforce diversity.
